Here is my professional experience and recent published accomplishments, at a glance:

At The Presidential Prayer Team (January 2007-August 2009), I served as Project Manager and oversaw the ministry’s fund raising efforts by strategizing and ghostwriting direct mail appeal letters and eAppeals, providing articles and related content for the Adopt Our Troops website including a bi-weekly eNewsletter, and writing for and managing a daily online devotional teaching series.

I serve on a contract basis as a copywriter and editor on the Merge Left Marketing LLC team (www.mergeleftmarketing.com), a full-service marketing consultancy that specializes in helping clients make the right connections with customers, developing improved marketing strategy and brand development, and creating exceptional web integration.

Since December 2008, I’ve ghostwritten ten direct mail appeal letters, as well as receipt letters, for the World Bible Translation Center (Ft. Worth, TX).

Since March 2008, I’ve written eight teaching articles published by In Touch Magazine. The next article will appear in the September 2009 issue, "Making the Most of Your Nervous Breakdown."

Since March 2008, I’ve ghostwritten seven direct mail appeal letters, as well as receipt letters and three study guides, for Family Life Communications (Tucson, AZ).

I’ve written 14 devotional teachings published in the summers of 2008 and 2009 by Light From The Word Daily Devotional, Wesleyan Publishing House.

I’ve written devotional teachings published in the Upper Room Devotional (November-December 2008; May-June 2009).

I’ve written two teaching articles published by Vista Magazine, Wesleyan Publishing House (December 2007-February 2008).

I wrote direct mail appeal letters (October 2007, January 2008) and wrote a video script (December 2007) for the Tucson Jazz Society.

I wrote the cover feature article published by Good News Tucson newspaper (December 2007).

I wrote up to 40 radio promotional spots per month for Family Life Communications (July 2007-January 2009).

I was a contributing editor to two books: “Starved for Affection” by Dr. Randy Carlson (Tyndale, 2005) and “Deadbeat Dads” by Carl J. Hoffman (Pocket, 1996).

Teaching at Christian Writers Conferences

I have served on the teaching faculty at the Glorieta Christian Writers Conference/New Mexico (Devotional writing and editing, 2007; Appeal letter writing and packages, 2008) and 2008 Southwest Christian Writers Conference, Colorado (Devotional writing and editing, Appeal letter writing and packages, Ghostwriting).

Managing Editor – Family Life Communications, Tucson, AZ

From 1996-2006 at Family Life Communications (FLC), I wrote as many as five feature articles per month for two magazines, both with a combined direct mail distribution of 20,000+ per mailing. I also edited both pieces. In addition, I wrote as many as three devotional-style teachings every two months for one of those magazines and oversaw and trained the writing team for that magazine, which was published for nearly six years.

At FLC, I also conducted monthly interviews with ministry President Dr. Randy Carlson and researched and wrote the detailed scripts for his audio teachings. These teachings were distributed monthly to over 3,000 donors to his nationally-syndicated daily radio program. I also researched and edited Dr. Carlson’s “Word on Relationships” teachings, which were distributed monthly in newsletters or magazines for five years.

Finally, I created and enforced writing style rules for all FLC publications and fund raising letters, ghostwrote and edited direct mail appeal letters, and wrote fund raising promotional copy for use on FLC’s corporate and individual radio station websites.

Editor – Good News Communications, Tucson, AZ

At Good News Communications (1985-1987, 1989-1996) I was editor of a regional newspaper with a monthly distribution of 30,000+. I wrote and edited news and feature articles for that publication while also writing radio commercial scripts and, for a brief period, hosting a daily call-in radio program for KVOI-AM / KGMS-FM.

College and earlier: I was a writer and asst. sports editor for the “Arizona Daily Wildcat” at the University of Arizona during my college freshman and early sophomore years. I earned an Associates Degree in Broadcast Communications from ITT Technical Institute in 1987. I was presented with the award for “Best Sports News” story by the Arizona Interscholastic Press Association as a senior at Sunnyside High School, where I was editor of the school newspaper.
